Fiery Lou - Education and Prevention of Gender Based Violence

On Monday night, our WCFC committee had the privilege of being joined by Shantelle and Annika from Firey Lou - a passionate, community-led charity dedicated to preventing gender-based violence and fostering safe, inclusive spaces through education, awareness, and advocacy. Their insightful presentation shone a light on how gender-based violence shows up in our communities & sporting clubs, the early warning signs, its deep impact on individuals and families, and crucially, the powerful difference each of us can make in prevention and support.

A heartfelt thank you to Shantelle and Annika for their time, their wisdom, and for equipping us with the tools to ensure our club and wider community remains a safe place for all.

We’re committed to taking action, this Sunday, during our Gender-Based Violence Awareness Round at South Wangaratta Reserve, we’ll stand together to raise awareness and support prevention efforts both on and off the field.
